Father Slavko Barbar\u00edc, OFM, was born Dragagicina in 1946. He was ordained a priest in 1971 and two years later, in 1973, in Graz, Australia, he obtained a master's degree in pastoral theology. In Freiburg, Germany, he studied and had his doctorate in religious pedagogy and the title of psychotherapist. In January 1982 he was called to serve Medugorje, he organized and conducted spiritual and fasting retreats for young people, couples and priests. He spread and commented on the messages of the Queen of Peace throughout the world and on the radio, helped by the extraordinary ability to learn and speak languages. He wrote articles for many magazines and published dozens of books on Medugorje spirituality; books translated into more than 20 languages.<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 24, 2000, after praying the Stations of the Cross in Krizevac with parishioners and pilgrims, at the beginning of his death, he collapsed to the ground and died near the XIII station where Jesus was taken down from the cross. It was 3:30 p.m. on a Friday.<\/p>\n
