It All Begins with Prayer is a beautiful book that encourages us and makes us see the importance of spirituality. At the home for the dying in Calcutta Mother Teresa often cared for the residents as she neared her end. While she was assisting an extremely sick man, a visitor overheard her whispering some words to him. These few words embody the spiritual wisdom of Mother Teresa. This is what he said: “You say a prayer in your religion, and I will say a prayer as I know it.” “Together we will say this prayer and it will be something beautiful for God.” These sweet words of comfort and care allow us a glimpse of a Mother Teresa we have often overlooked: Mother Teresa as a universal teacher of prayer.
