The Jerusalem Bible has always been characterized, since its beginnings, by the desire to offer its readers a translation that reflects fidelity to the meaning of the original texts, and to incorporate, in introductions and notes, the contribution of contemporary scholars, in the liturgical, theological, historical and archaeological fields. From this perspective, it continues to maintain its own identity as a “study Bible.”
