"1. Jericho was closed tight to protect the Israelites: no one left or entered. 2. Yahweh said to Joshua: “Look, I am putting Jericho and its kings into your hands. You, mighty warriors, 3. all the men of war, will surround the city, going around it. You will do this for six days. 4. Seven priests will carry the seven trumpets of ram's horn before the ark. On the seventh day you will give the return to the city seven times and the priests will blow the trumpets). 5. When the ram's horn sounds (when you hear the voice of the trumpet), all the people will break out into a great shout and the wall of the city will fall down. And the people will launch an assault, each one in front of himself. 6. Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, "Take the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests carry the ram's horn trumpets before the ark of the LORD." 7. To the people he said, "Go through and go around the city and let the vanguard pass before the ark of Yahweh." 8. (It was done according to the order given by Joshua to the people). Seven priests carrying the seven ram's horn trumpets passed before Yahweh and blew the trumpets; The ark of the covenant of Yahweh went after them; 9. The vanguard went before the priests who blew the trumpets and the rear guard marched behind the ark. As they walked, they played trumpets. 10. Joshua had given this command to the people: "Do not shout, nor let your voices be heard (let not a word come out of your mouth) until the day when I say to you, 'Shout.'" Then you will scream." 11. He made the ark of Yahweh go around the city (circling it once); then they returned to camp, where they spent the night. 12. Joshua arose early in the morning, and the priests took the ark of Yahweh. 13. Seven priests, carrying the seven ram's horn trumpets before the ark of Yahweh, walked and blew the trumpets as they went. The vanguard went before them and the rear guard behind the ark of Yahweh, marching to the sound of trumpets. 14. They went around the city (on the second day) and returned to the camp. The same thing was done for six days. 15. On the seventh day, they got up at dawn and went around the city (according to the same ritual) seven times. (On that day alone they circled the city seven times.) 16. The seventh time, the priests blew the trumpet, and Joshua said to the people, “Scream a battle cry, for Yahweh has given the city to you!” 17. “The city will be consecrated as anathema to Yahweh with everything in it; Only Rajab, the prostitute, will be left alive, as well as all those who are with her in her house, for having hidden the emissaries we sent. 18. But you must beware of the accursed, so that you do not remain, driven by greed, with something that is accursed, because you will make the entire camp of Israel anathema and bring disgrace upon it. 19. All the silver and all the gold, all the articles of bronze and iron, are consecrated to Yahweh: they will enter his treasury. 20. The people cried out and the trumpets were blown. When the people heard the voice of the trumpet, they broke out with a great cry, and the wall fell down. The people scaled the city, each one in front of him, and took control of it. 21. They consecrated to the accursed everything that was in the city, men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep and donkeys, with the edge of the sword.”  Joshua 6:1-21
