Don Bosco's dreams

In the life of Saint John Bosco (written in 19 volumes called Biographical Memoirs), 159 dreams of this Saint are narrated.

At first he did not give them much importance, but then he began to realize that what he saw or heard in his dreams was later fulfilled with wonderful accuracy, and he began to narrate them to his most trusted disciples. He had not planned to write them, but the Supreme Pontiff Pius IX, realizing the much good that these dreams could do to people, strictly ordered him to write them.

The Saint said: “I have become convinced that sometimes the narration of one of these dreams does greater good to the listeners than a sermon.” And in 1886, two years before he died, upon hearing his great friend Father Lemoyne tell him: “Many of your dreams can be called “Revelations from God,” Don Bosco exclaimed: “That's right, they are revelations from God.”

What most impressed those who listened to Saint John Bosco narrate the dreams he had had, was the realization a short time later how everything that he had been warned was going to happen in the dream was being fulfilled to the letter.
