Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

- Dogma is a truth of Faith revealed by God, it is proposed by the Church as truly revealed by God. After being proclaimed it cannot be repealed or denied, neither by the Pope nor by conciliar decision.
- The Assumption of Mary begins at the end of her earthly life, that is, when the Mother of God was taken to heaven, glorified in body and soul. The most solemn of the holidays that the Church celebrates in his honor. Where we remember that Mary is a wonderful work of God, granted without original sin and remained free of sin.
- The Code of Canon Law indicates that the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a solemnity in which the Catholic must attend Mass. In some countries it is a Sunday obligation, including the United States.
- God did not crown Mary for being the Mother of the Savior, but for her virtues, her charity, her simplicity, her humility, her charity, her purity, her patience, her meekness, her perfect tribute of adoration, love, praise and gratitude.
- Mary perfectly fulfilled the will of God in her life and that made her reach the glory of God.
- When declaring the dogma of the Assumption of Mary, Pius XII did not want to decide whether the Virgin died and was resurrected immediately, or whether she went directly to heaven. Many theologians think that the Virgin died to be more like Jesus, but others support the Dormition of the Virgin.
- Mary is ascended by angels, not by her own means as Jesus did. Which means that it is promoted by the work and thanks of God. For this reason she is portrayed surrounded by angels who lift her up among clouds.
- Mary had enormous trust in God, her heart was full of God. He lived with immense peace because he lived in God, because he perfectly fulfilled the will of God throughout his life. And this is what led her to enjoy the glory of God.
- After Christ, Mary is the first human creature to realize the eschatological ideal, anticipating the fullness of happiness, promised through the resurrection of the bodies.
