Safeguarding the Most Precious Blood of Christ

The enemy and his evil influences are put to flight when we carry with devotion the Safeguard of the Blood of Christ. In the same way that in the first alliance Moses sprinkled the people with the blood of the bulls sacrificed to Yahweh (cf. Exodus 24, 8), Christ has washed and purified us from the cross, by the outpouring of his blood. He is “the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world,” the priest of the new covenant (cf. Mark 14:24). Every day, the mystery of redemption is actualized in the Eucharist. The Blood of Christ is our surest pledge of protection against the dangers of life and against the disturbances caused by the influence of the hidden forces of evil.
